Subject: Updates to the Acceptability of Graduate Transfer Credit Policy

Upon the recommendation of the Professional Graduate Program Taskforce, the Graduate College proposed updating the Acceptability of Graduate Transfer Credit policy to support professional practice programs. The updated policy was approved by the Graduate Council, Graduate College Academic Administrators Council, Faculty Senate and the Provost.
The amendments to the policy include the following:
- Allows up to 40% of degree requirements for professional practice programs, as approved by the Graduate College, to be transferred from a regionally accredited institution.
The amended Acceptability of Graduate Transfer Credit policy will be effective Fall 2026.
