On June 5, Provost Patricia Prelock sent a message to Online Education faculty and staff announcing the launch of a global search for a senior vice provost for online education. The beginning of the message is below and the full message is posted on the Office of the Provost website.

Dear colleagues,

At the end of March, the university announced a new era for online education, and Frank Dooley was appointed to oversee online initiatives during this period of integration and modernization.

I am pleased to share that we have formally launched a global search for a senior vice provost for online education.

We are seeking a visionary leader who possesses deep experience and expertise in online pedagogy and best practices to lead the operations of a modern online enterprise. This executive will oversee our new joint online entity that brings together Arizona Online and University of Arizona Global Campus.

I have asked Dean Regina Deil-Amen to serve as chair of the search committee. As dean of the College of Education and a respected scholar of higher education, Dr. Deil-Amen brings extensive experience in academic leadership, student success and educational innovation, including research on how digital platforms can support student engagement and achievement.
