Juneteenth and Beyond Celebration on June 25
The community is invited to attend “Juneteenth and Beyond: The Art of Black Culture Through Movement” on Thursday, June 25, from 4-6 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Tickets are $20 and are available online.
The event is designed to honor the cultural legacy and lasting influence of Black expression. Attendees will experience a performance by community dancers from the School of Dance’s Theatre of Movement, choreographed by Director Duane Cyrus, live music from Tucson composer Freddy Jay Walker and an Afro-Caribbean-inspired three-course meal created by the Student Unions culinary team.
The program is presented by Campus Community Connections, Student Unions, Arizona Arts Live and the College of Fine Arts.
