The division of Facilities and Planning is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela “Angie” Souza as executive director of Integrated Campus Planning, reporting to Josh Wright, chief facilities and planning officer.

In this role, Angie leads the newly established Office of Integrated Campus Planning, which is responsible for strategic planning and stewardship of the university’s built environment, or physical space encompassing land use, buildings, infrastructure, and open space.

The Office of Integrated Campus Planning oversees three core areas:

  • Capital Projects Planning

  • Space Strategy and Management

  • Campus Planning and Sustainability

The office serves as the university’s central resource for institutional planning, which includes development and implementation of the Campus Master Plan and the Five-Year Capital Plan.

In addition, the Office of Integrated Campus Planning engages with units on their own planning efforts that affect the built environment. This work involves reviewing and approving space allocations and uses for all university locations, including facility project requests from units across the university. The team collaborates closely with University Facilities Services to implement approved requests and provides guidance throughout the process.

This new structure brings the Office of Sustainability in closer alignment with the university's broader planning function, an integration that reflects our commitment to embedding sustainable practices at every stage of campus development.

Upcoming: New request process for space and project requests

The Office of Integrated Campus Planning is currently developing new, consistent processes for reviewing all space and project requests, for example renovations, new office needs or research space changes, to align planning efforts across colleges and divisions with the university’s strategic imperatives

To support decision-making and planning based on institutional and unit-level needs, campus leaders will soon receive data, guidance and other resources, regarding these new processes.
