Proposed Revisions to Workplace Violence Prevention and Response Policy
NOTICE OF PROPOSED WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND RESPONSE POLICY REVISION
SUMMARY
The purpose of this policy is to prevent or respond to activities that threaten the safety of the university community. The university respects and encourages legal expressive activity. This policy is not intended to restrict, and should not be interpreted as restricting, the free speech rights of the university community.
Purpose of Revisions:
- To prevent and reduce workplace violence.
- Provides a more comprehensive framework to guide the university in developing an effective workplace violence prevention system, including:
- leadership oversight
- investigation
- disciplinary action
- reporting systems
- post-incident strategies
- education and training
A copy of the revised policy is available on the University Policies website.
Members of the university community are invited to submit written comments via the Policy Feedback box on the policy or by sending comments to policy@arizona.edu.
All comments must be received by close of business on Oct. 8, 2024.
