Subject: Call for UAMA Volunteer and Student Gallery Guides
Date: Jul 19, 2024
The University of Arizona Museum of Art (UAMA) is recruiting gallery guides. Gallery guides – also known as docents – plan and lead welcoming and interactive tours in the UAMA galleries for K12, college, and adult groups. Gallery guides are a mix of volunteer community members and University of Arizona students, who may be eligible to receive a financial award through their bursar account, based on level of participation.
New trainees attend ongoing trainings on 1-3 Monday mornings per month, shadow and receive mentorship from experienced guides and museum staff, and complete at least one practice tour prior to leading groups on their own.
- Find more details on the UAMA website and contact Willa Ahlschwede, willa@arizona.edu, with any questions.
- RSVP for an upcoming Virtual Info Session to learn more: Monday July 22 10-11 a.m. on Zoom.
- Apply now to join the new training class for fall 2024.
