StoryCorps Partners With AZPM to Record and Preserve Tucson's Stories
StoryCorps, the national nonprofit dedicated to recording, preserving, and sharing the stories of everyday Americans, is partnering with Arizona Public Media to capture the voices of Southern Arizona.
As part of its Mobile Tour, StoryCorps will offer Tucson-area residents two ways to participate through October 31:
- In-person recordings inside the iconic StoryCorps Airstream mobile studio — Visit the Airstream at the Paul & Alice Baker Center for Public Media, 2685 S Catalyst Drive Tucson, AZ 85713
- Remote conversations through the StoryCorps "virtual recording booth"
In both settings, participants will be guided by a trained StoryCorps facilitator as they record a meaningful conversation with a loved one, friend, or community member.
Each interview will be preserved in the U.S. Library of Congress and added to the StoryCorps Online Archive — now the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered.
