In December 2024, Dean Robert Berry announced his decision to step down as Dean of the College of Education at the University of Arizona, effective March 31, 2025. The Office of the Provost and the University of Arizona extend their appreciation to Dean Berry for his leadership and contributions.

Beginning March 3, Dr. Regina Deil-Amen will assume the role of Acting Dean and will transition to interim dean on April 1.

A valued member of the college since 2007, Dr. Deil-Amen has served as Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education and as Department Head of Educational Policy Studies and Practice from 2020 to 2023. In 2023, she was appointed Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, where she has been instrumental in championing faculty development and supporting impactful research and scholarship that drive meaningful changes in classrooms and communities.

As interim dean, Dr. Deil-Amen is dedicated to advancing the college's mission of preparing educators, leaders, and policymakers to transform educational practices locally and globally. She is excited to promote the college's role in fulfilling the university's land-grant mission, supporting teachers, administrators, and community leaders, and fostering educational improvement through research and practice that uplifts the strengths of all students and their families.

The Office of the Provost and College of Education is excited to welcome Dr. Deil-Amen into this role and confident that her passion, leadership, and vision will positively impact on students, educators, and communities across Arizona and beyond.
