Diversity and Inclusion Symposium: Call for Presenters
The Diversity and Inclusion Symposium, set for March 16-17, 2023, is a unique opportunity for faculty and staff to learn and discuss critical issues related to diversity and inclusion in higher education. We invite you to submit a proposal to present successful strategies, new research, and inspiring frameworks that advance the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion on the university campus and beyond. The Symposium will provide participants with opportunities to rise together by expanding our collective knowledge, strengthening our resilience, and deepening our capacity for compassion. This year's theme is "Rise Together."
Submission Instructions
Eligibility: Current Staff, Faculty, Graduate Students, Administrative Leaders
Session proposals should be thought-provoking, introducing novel ideas and experiences followed by discussions with the audience. Proposals must use the following information:
- Name and contact information of submitter
- Organizational/professional affiliations of the session's presenters (one or two people)
- Session title (15 word limit)
- Brief program description, for marketing purposes (50-75 words)

Presentation Description (500-word limit) to include:
- Statement of Purpose and Outcomes - State the purpose of the presentation and the anticipated outcomes. The purpose will communicate the intention or goals, and the anticipated outcomes will give details of what those attending can expect from the presentation.
- Organization of Content - Describe the content to be presented in a well-organized manner with a clear outline of the presentation. Include descriptive examples that provide supporting evidence such as, but not limited to, lesson or unit designs, narratives, exhibits or community events, etc. for the subject matter being presented—this will vary for the different presentation formats.
- Relevance of Topic - Include details about how the topic relevance and how it makes a timely contribution to diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion issues and trends in higher education and/or the broader society.
- Impact on Practice - Indicate how the presentation promotes best practice and provides an enriching professional development opportunity for attendees.
- Target audience (staff, faculty, and graduate students)
- Desired delivery method (in-person or virtual)
- Session format
You are invited to submit your session proposal to the Program Committee by Jan. 20, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Arizona Time online.
Notification of proposal status will be emailed by Jan. 31, 2023.
