Malicious threats, phishing scams, and malware attacks are a constant threat to our systems, networks, and the data that they hold. Antivirus software is an important tool that helps to protect against cyber threats.

The University of Arizona has recently migrated its campus antivirus software to a cloud-based version, Sophos Central, which allows for central management of the security software. Local IT units have been engaged in this transition during the past year and we appreciate their support.

Faculty and staff who have Sophos on their University computer or want to ensure that their work system has been included in this update should contact their local IT support for assistance.

Faculty and staff who have Sophos installed on their home computers can choose to use the home version of Sophos (https://home.sophos.com/en-us/free-anti-virus-windows.aspx). If you have questions or need assistance with Sophos for home use, please contact the 24/7 IT Support Center at 520-626-8324. Most PCs have a built-in antivirus software and there are other free options available through most internet service providers.

Thank you for helping to keep the UA secure. Questions? Please contact security@arizona.edu.
