The U of A has the world's top entomology program and is a leading university in nearly 200 different fields of study, according to EduRank's Best Universities in the World rankings.

The U of A's physical sciences programs are ranked 50th in the world and 11th among U.S. public colleges and universities in Times Higher Education's World University Rankings by Subject.

Arizona Online ranks No. 12 among online bachelor's degree programs and ranks No. 5 on the Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans list.

The U of A delivered $955 million in total research activity last year, ranking among the top 20 public research institutions. University officials project research activity exceeded $1 billion in fiscal year 2024 and are submitting the data to the National Science Foundation for review. The official number will be confirmed in the fall.

The U of A ranks No. 1 in the U.S. in water resources, according to ShanghaiRanking's 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. The U of A has ranked in the top 10 globally since ShanghaiRanking started ranking water resources programs in 2017.

The U of A climbed two spots to No. 4 overall and No. 3 among public universities in the latest edition of the Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges 2024 ranking.

The Wrap has ranked the U of A film school No. 9 overall and No. 2 among public film schools. Work by the school's students has gained recognition around the globe.

Two recently released prestigious international rankings recognize the University of Arizona as a top-25 U.S. public research institution.

In the Best National Universities ranking, the U of A tied for No. 109 overall and tied for No. 52 among public universities – a six-spot increase for both. The university ranks No. 12 among colleges and universities designated as Hispanic-Serving Institutions and No. 23 among state flagship universities.

The U of A ranked No. 25 overall out of 251 U.S. colleges and universities in the the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression's 2025 College Free Speech Rankings.
