Did you know that an employee's suggestion helped bring about the paid parental leave policy? Or that the self-pay stations in the garages across campus were installed after another employee shared their idea? Are you thinking about all of the similar ideas you have had over the years, but never shared?

Be heard with the new UAVoice.

UAVoice builds on the success of the Campaign for Common Sense, which ran from 2013 to 2016, and resulted in more than 1,500 unique suggestions. The UA has continued its commitment to self-improvement with a new website, allowing the community to submit ideas for enhancing practices or policies.

"The Campaign for Common Sense gave us an opportunity to experiment with crowdsourcing innovation," said Allison Vaillancourt, vice president of business affairs and human resources. "Based on feedback, UAVoice takes that concept a step further, streamlining the approach to gathering and advancing innovative ideas."

Those who visit the recently transformed website can submit ideas and vote on other suggestions. Those ideas that garner the most attention are shared with the appropriate leaders.

"This is a pivotal time in the University's history," Vaillancourt said. "We must all be change agents."

A UA NetID is required to access the site. Submissions can be made by all members of the UA community, including students.

Employee suggestions to the original Campaign for Common Sense helped bring about hundreds of positive changes. Highlights include:

  • Paid parental leave
  • Self-pay stations in parking garages
  • More lactation stations on campus
  • New occupational health office
  • A modernized academic renewal policy
  • Added access to nutrition information for Arizona Student Unions food options
  • A streamlined process for appointed designated campus colleagues
