Staff Council to continue discussions on financial action plan
The University's financial action plan and the impact on staff members will be discussed at the next meeting of the University of Arizona Staff Council.
The Jan. 30 meeting begins at 2 p.m. The full agenda is posted on the Staff Council website.
Melanie Madden, Staff Council chair and program manager for curricular affairs in Academic Administration, will lead a review of a letter sent to University President Robert C. Robbins in December sharing ideas for financial changes to minimize impact to staff welfare.
The University submitted its financial action plan to the Arizona Board of Regents in December. More information is available on the University's Financial Updates website.
The Staff Council is a shared governance organization that represents University Staff and Classified Staff. The council meets via Zoom the last Tuesday of each month throughout the year. Meetings are open to all employees.

See the artistic talents of your colleagues at the 'On Our Own Time' showcase
Members of the campus community can enjoy the artwork of employees and their families when the "On Our Own Time" art exhibition opens Monday. Works will be on display through Feb. 10 in the lobby of Bioscience Research Laboratories, 1200 N. Cherry Ave. Artwork can also be viewed on the online gallery.
The annual showcase is open to University employees, retirees, volunteers and their family members. Cash prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place entries in professional, intermediate, amateur, teen and youth categories. Best of Show, Art Education and People's Choice awards will also be given. All but one of the awards will be determined by a panel of three judges. The People's Choice award will be determined by votes cast by the public at reception that will be held in the exhibition space on Feb. 10 from 1-3 p.m. Votes can also be cast online.
The program is coordinated by the University's Employee Recognition Committee and is sponsored by the National Arts Program, which provides materials and funding for awards.
