University of Arizona Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Kickoff
Participate in the kickoff event for the University of Arizona Sustainability and Climate Action Plan
The University is creating a Sustainability and Climate Action Plan to meet our commitment to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2040 or sooner and to help address the climate crisis.
YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED
Faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community are invited to learn more about this collaborative process and to contribute their ideas for the Action Plan at the kick-off event on April 11 from 2-4:00 p.m. in the Health Sciences Innovation Building (Forum). Attendees both in-person and on Zoom will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and activities that will inform the Action Plan.

ABOUT THE SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE ACTION PLAN
The Action Plan will guide us to create a comprehensive roadmap for achieving climate neutrality together while addressing the urgent challenges caused by the climate crisis. This plan will identify objectives and initiatives for the University that will:
-
Reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as well as energy and water use, further increase our use of renewable energy, and promote other climate and broader sustainability and resilience solutions;
-
Integrate resilient practices and sustainability as a guiding principle across our operations, teaching and research activities;
-
Activate students, faculty and staff as well as our community partners in making the University a more sustainable place to live, work and learn.
Multi-disciplinary working groups, an advisory team, and an executive steering committee, each consisting of key stakeholders from across the University, will support this process.
