Ravneet Chadha Departs as Inaugural Chief Data Officer After 20 Years of Service to U of A
Ravneet Chadha has announced he will be stepping away from his role as chief data officer and associate vice president of University Analytics and Institutional Research (UAIR) in a letter to the campus community to pursue other opportunities outside the university. His last day will be Friday, Feb. 28.
Ravneet has served the university in various leadership roles in areas of business intelligence and institutional research over the past 20 years. Appointed as the university’s first chief data officer in 2019, he has been instrumental in establishing the university as an insights-driven organization, transforming data into actionable intelligence for informed decision-making and strategic growth. His leadership has fostered a stronger data-informed culture, focusing on data governance, privacy, and the advancement of data science.
Under Ravneet's leadership, UAIR has made significant progress in developing important institutional data tools for the university community. This includes Arizona Profiles' comprehensive college/unit dashboards, expanded data warehouse capabilities, an enhanced interactive factbook, and a robust predictive science and data modeling framework. Additionally, UAIR has strengthened the university's standing as a national leader in leveraging data, information and analytics to shape policies and practices that benefit students, faculty and staff.
