The University of Arizona Graduate & Professional Student Council and the Graduate Center cordially invite you to attend the University of Arizona Grad Slam Final Round this March 30, 2023, at 5:00 PM in the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. The Grad Slam Team encourages attendees to RSVP through our event registration page.

Grad Slam is a campus-wide presentation competition in which graduate students present their research, creative work, and other projects within a 3-minute presentation for a chance to win up to $3,000. The event is a great professional development opportunity for the students to enhance their communication skills for non-specialist audiences and is an effective way of showcasing the ongoing innovative research, community engagement, and creative work associated with graduate education at the University of Arizona.

Our six finalists will compete for Grand Prize awards of $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second place, $1,000 for third place. The Grand Prize awards are sponsored by University of Arizona Research, Innovation & Impact (RII).

This year's finalists are:

  • Collin Gillespie, Masters Student in Natural Resource Management - Watershed Management and Ecohydrology
  • Grace Heffernon, Masters Student in Biomedical Engineering
  • Kevin Hurtado, Doctoral Student in Pharmacology and Toxicology
  • Enrique Olivares-Pelayo, Doctoral Student in Geography
  • Abigail Schwarz, Doctoral Student in Neuroscience
  • Gabby Wen, Doctoral Student in Applied Intercultural Arts Research
