Email Spam Filter Updates to Enhance Security
On Feb. 10, the university will update its email spam filter to provide additional protection for employees and students against phishing scams, malware and viruses.
This email spam filter change will be automatically applied to all university email accounts. No action is required.
You may continue to release, permit or block suspicious messages by:
- Reviewing daily email digest notifications delivered to your university email inbox from postmaster@arizona.edu. The emails, titled “You have new held messages,” summarize new messages identified as spam. You may opt in or out of receiving these notifications by updating your preferences using the digest email form.
- Logging in to the email filter portal to access, manage and search all held or suspicious messages over the past 30 days.
Your actions to release, permit or block emails from the digest notification or portal help the email spam filter learn your preferences and filter future messages more accurately.
For more information about the university’s email spam filter, read the Email Security Portal knowledge article or Email Security Portal FAQs.
