Journalism Senior Finalist for Hearst Prize

Aaron D. Farnsworth, a senior in the University of Arizona journalism department, is among the 20 finalists in the photojournalism competition of the Hearst Journalism Awards Program.

Farnsworth tied for 19th place and will receive an award certificate. The winners were selected from among 60 entries submitted from 35 schools.

The annual photojournalism competition is held in more than 100 member colleges and universities of the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication with accredited undergraduate journalism programs.

Entries were in the categories of feature and portrait/personality.

Farnsworth's photographs included a portrait of convicted murderer Jason Doty taken at his sentencing in Tucson and a shot of a sad clown in Tombstone.
