Cast Your Vote for UA Eatery
Campus community members are encouraged to participate in a contest to rename the Cellar, the eatery located in the lower level of the Student Union Memorial Center.

With the original list of more than 200 submissions for the Cellar's name change narrowed down to three, the University of Arizona community has until next week to put in a final vote.

The Cellar, located in the lower level of the Student Union Memorial Center, first went through a menu revamp and its common areas were resigned to include upgraded computers, a video gaming room and portable performance stage.

The restaurant's menu was infused with more healthy options – such as organic, whole grains, seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic free foods.

Among the selections are honey mustard grilled wild salmon, apricot chipotle glazed wild salmon, coconut curry shrimp, Thai red curry grilled chicken, blackened tilapia, prickly pear grilled chicken, turkey and veggie burgers, a grilled Portobello mushroom sandwich, quinoa and potato salads and boba teas.

Now, it's time for a name change.

"The restaurant is open and it's a huge success," said Nick Adamakis, director of marketing for the Arizona Student Unions and Student Affairs division.

"Now we want students and staff to go to the Web site and choose between the different names submitted," Adamakis added.

Core restaurant, also located in the Student Union, was named in the same way last year.

The competition for renaming the Cellar began in August with the start of the academic year.

Since then, members of the Student Union Advisory Council narrowed down the names to three finalists: "Green Underground Eats," "Fresco Honest Eats" and "Cellar Bistro."

Campus community members can vote now through Dec. 10 on the new name.
