The "On Our Own Time" art exhibit has returned for the eighth year in a row to showcase the artistic talents of UA employees and their immediate family members.
The exhibit, which in the past has been held at the Student Union Memorial Center's Union Gallery, found a new home this year in the lobby of the Bioscience Research Laboratories building at Cherry Avenue and Helen Street.
The free exhibit opened on March 12 and will run through March 24. A reception will be held March 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year's exhibit features a variety of artwork, including drawings, paintings, photography and sculptures. The exhibit is sponsored by the National Arts Program, which provides organizations with more than 3,500 employees resources to showcase those employees' artistic abilities.
More than $2,400 will be given in cash prizes to the winners in the categories of amateur, intermediate, professional, youth and teen.
The exhibit is organized by the Classified Staff Council and the UA Employee Recognition Committee.
