Those who rolled through the University of Arizona Mall early this week to get their COVID-19 shot may have seen an unfamiliar sight on one of the campus's most striking buildings: people dancing on the north-facing glass wall of Meinel Optical Sciences.

The vertical dance group BANDALOOP came to the university for performances throughout the day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on the sides of the Psychology and Meinel Optical Sciences buildings. The group was brought to campus by Arizona Arts Live.

BANDALOOP combines intricate choreography and climbing technology to turn the dance floor on its side. The California-based group has performed around the world on the sides of museums, historical monuments, skyscrapers and mountain cliffs.

This performances were part of the university's March 9 and 10 reading days – days off that replaced the traditional spring break this year.
