In 2022, Colombia's Truth Commission presented its final report on human rights violations during Latin America's longest-running armed conflict. Carlos Martín Beristain served as a member of the Truth Commission and coordinated its work chronicling the experience of Colombian refugees and exiles, including interviews in 24 countries, the largest documentation project of forced displacement ever conducted by a national truth commission.
Carlos Martín Beristain is a medical doctor and social psychologist with more than 30 years experience working with human rights documentation projects. In addition to serving on Colombia’s Truth Commission, he was a member of the international commission investigating the Ayotzinapa case in Mexico, coordinated Guatemala's "Nunca Más" human rights report, and has collaborated with human rights documentation projects and the integral attention to victims in Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua and the Sahara.

Jeannine Relly is a professor in the School of Journalism at the University of Arizona, where she has directed Global Initiatives for the School's Center for Border and Global Journalism and the Studies of Global Media Programs. She is currently Associate Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
