June 25, 2018 Tucson Village Farm Announces Groundbreaking

| TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Village Farm, an education-based farm that teaches children to grow and prepare fresh food, is receiving $445,000 from Angel Charity, a Tucson-based nonprofit organization, to help build a teaching kitchen and will break ground on the project on June 28.
The farm, a program of University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and 4-H Youth Development, will be the site of the Angel Charity Culinary Education Center for Children. The center "will allow Tucson Village Farm to further enrich and expand our programming to reconnect children to a healthy food system," says Elizabeth Sparks, 4-H Youth Development assistant agent. Sparks says the space will serve 13,000 children annually, teaching them how to prepare healthful meals from fresh food. ### |
