Media Advisory: Adaptive Athletics display to be unveiled at Jim Click Hall of Champions

TUCSON, Ariz. – A new display honoring the University of Arizona's Adaptive Athletics program will be unveiled Friday at the university's Jim Click Hall of Champions.
Based out of the Disability Resource Center, the university's Adaptive Athletics program is the largest and most successful college-based adaptive sports program in the U.S., with seven competitive teams and an adaptive fitness center. In its 44-year history, Adaptive Athletics has sent 38 athletes to the Paralympics and has won multiple national titles in several sports.
The Hall of Champions, located inside McKale Memorial Center's Eddie Lynch Athletics Pavilion, features displays highlighting over 100 years of outstanding UArizona student-athletes, performances, traditions, events and spirit.
A special unveiling ceremony at the Hall of Champions will include a ribbon cutting for the new display and remarks from:
- Peter Hughes, director of Adaptive Athletics
- Amanda Kraus, assistant vice president of campus life and executive director of disability resources
- Jim Click, president of Jim Click Inc. Automotive Group and longtime Adaptive Athletics sponsor
The event will be followed by the annual wheelchair basketball Red-Blue game at McKale. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m. The intramural exhibition game will be followed by the Arizona Men's Basketball Red-Blue scrimmage at 7:30 p.m.
