Beginning July 1, all University of Arizona graduates will become general members of the UA Alumni Association, immediately qualifying them to receive alumni benefits, discounts and special offers.

Meanwhile, alumni and supporters who make a gift through membership will become sustaining members of the Alumni Association, receiving additional membership access and benefits. The purchase of a sustaining membership will also count as a tax-deductible gift.

“We’re excited about these membership changes because it unites Wildcats together, expanding a global network of 15,000 previous members to more than 290,000 members,” said Melinda Burke, president of the Alumni Association. “By making membership a gift, we’ll also be able to enhance support of UA students, projects and priorities, fostering more Wildcat-to-Wildcat connections and creating a culture of giving in the process.”

The new membership program features three simple membership options to make it easier than ever to become a member of the Alumni Association. Membership is purchased and renewed annually, with pricing set at:

• $15 for alumni who graduated five or fewer years ago
• $50 for alumni and supporters
• $950 for legacy members who want their membership to support the Legacy Scholarship for legacy students or the Wildcat for Life Scholarship for nonlegacy students (four easy payments available).

For life members, there will be no changes in their status in the new membership program. Furthermore, the Alumni Association will continue to honor the memberships of original life members.

Through the new membership program, the Alumni Association will continue to move the UA forward and impact student lives by providing scholarships, leadership programs and professional development opportunities. In 2018, the Alumni Association awarded over $1.1 million in scholarships to 440 UA students, powering student success for the next generation of Wildcats.

“Engaged alumni make the university stronger through their networks, leadership and contributions,” said Burke. “It’s through our alumni’s membership and support that we will ensure the Alumni Association will continue to advance the university by connecting and engaging Wildcats for Life.”
