Poverty, Obesity Entwined
In Arizona, 31 percent of children between the ages of 10 and 17 are overweight or obese. Dr. Tracey Kurtzman, an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics in the UA's College of Medicine, says the problem is paradoxical: poor people in other countries are emaciated, while the U.S. poor are "malnourished with too much."
