The University of Arizona's School of Theatre, Film & Television was recently ranked No. 7 in the nation among public universities in The Wrap's sixth annual list of top 50 film schools.

A team led by University of Arizona planetary sciences researchers Ben Sharkey and associate professor Vishnu Reddy determined a near-Earth asteroid might actually be a fragment of the moon ejected into space during a meteor impact. First discovered in 2016, the quasi-satellite (a near-Earth asteroid that orbits the sun close to Earth) reflects light in a pattern that matches lunar surface minerals and lunar rocks collected during NASA's Apollo missions. 

At long last, the James Webb Space Telescope is set to launch. It will capture cosmic dawn and bring alien worlds into view. This story quotes University of Arizona astronomer Marcia Rieke who served on the project’s working group in the late 1990s and  led the development of Webb’s near-infrared camera: “Finding the first aggregations of stars may tell us more about what was leftover after the big bang.”

When Paralympians gathered in Tokyo this summer to compete on the world’s highest stage, 16 elite athletes had the University of Arizona to thank for helping them get there. A handful returned to campus with medals, and all their names will be added to the Wall of Paralympians in the lobby of the university's Disability Resource Center, bringing the total to 45 athletes. They're some of the many athletes in the Adaptive Athletics program, which is the largest and among the most successful college sports programs for students with disabilities.
