U of A ranked a top-50 research university, No. 1 in entomology by EduRank

The University of Arizona has the world's top entomology program and is a leading research university in nearly 200 different fields of study, according to EduRank's Best Universities in the World rankings, released March 2.

The U of A overall is ranked No. 43 in the world, No. 37 in the U.S. and No. 20 among U.S. public colleges and universities by EduRank. The university placed in the top 100 in more than 170 subjects organized into 13 categories.

"Our stellar performance across such a wide range of disciplines reaffirms the University of Arizona's standing as a top-tier global research institution," said Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, U of A senior vice president for research and innovation. "These rankings reflect the dedication of our extraordinary research community – faculty, postdocs, students and staff – who are pioneering discoveries that address the many challenges we face as a society."

The U of A earned its best ranking in entomology, coming in No. 1 in the world.

"The Department of Entomology is remarkably collaborative, with synergistic contributions from students, staff, postdocs and faculty," said Bruce Tabashnik, Regents Professor and head of the Department of Entomology. "We have a passion for generating, sharing and applying knowledge about insects to improve the quality of life for people in Arizona, our nation and beyond."

In addition to entomology, the U of A earned its best marks in the following categories. The first number is the U.S. ranking and the second number is the global ranking.
