Michelle Lane, who graduated from the UA in 2000 and went on to perform with "Avenue Q," returned to campus this semester to train students in puppeteering. Lane said the return felt like a homecoming for her, combining her love for the UA and her passion for teaching.
While pursuing her studies at the UA, Candace Galla was actively involved in the American Indian Language Development Institute, which provides training in linguistics, education and language preservation. A three-time UA alumna, Galla continues her work at the University of British Columbia, where she is studying and teaching the importance of indigenous language revitalization, namely through a performance course in hula.
