Researchers at the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy will begin a double-blind, randomized Phase 3 clinical trial this year to evaluate whether a drug used to prevent organ transplant rejection can also improve older adults' resilience and immune function.

A $2 million gift from Bob and Sue Vaughan will create the SueBob Vaughan Leaders Endowed Chair at the University of Arizona W.A. Franke Honors College.

The donor offered a four-to-one match of all gifts directed to academic priorities at the university, resulting in an all-time Giving Day record of $25,699,324.

An $8 million estate gift from the late Susan K. Von Kersburg will provide lasting support for students in the W.A. Franke Honors College.

A bequest from the estate of James Anthony Gerleman will help educate medical students at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson.

Donations from longtime U of A supporters Ginny L. Clements and Tom Rogers pave the way for a new institute, the first of its kind in the Southwest, at the Sarver Heart Center.

Funding will support the development of K-12 programs that educate teachers and students about responsible mining and careers in the mining industry.

The gift will support the hiring of five junior faculty members and expand the work of the Coit Center for Longevity and Neurotherapeutics.

The specimen of the mineral stibnite was extracted in 2003 from the Wuling Mine in southeastern China and is exceptionally rare for its size, intricacy and quality.
