Students from Hopi High School collected garbage from their homes and brought it to class. Working in teams of two to four people, they separated the garbage into biodegradable materials, trash and materials that could be recycled.

Mining Safety, Health Focus of $1.7M Grant

Researchers at the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health will study alternatives to diesel fuel, commonly used to power equipment in underground mines, to reduce cancer and respiratory disease in miners.

The UA's new bachelor's degree in applied humanities will produce graduates who are prepared with both professional skills and the so-called “soft skills” and broad perspectives that are gained in the humanities.
