Academic Writing in the Borderlands

Each January, the Writing Skills Improvement Program facilitates the Academic Writing in the Borderlands program for undergraduate and graduate students. Our goal is to help students deepen their understanding of what it means to be an academic scholar and researcher working from and in the Borderlands. We begin in January with a week of writing workshops and support focusing on issues related to academic writing, including an emphasis on important issues of positionality and integrity for scholars, as well as a refresher on writing conventions. Students continue to receive writing support throughout the spring semester. Open to University of Arizona students in all disciplines, as well as students from any other institution.
