Stephen L. Zegura
Stephen L. Zegura, a professor emeritus in the School of Anthropology, died on May 26 at the age of 75.
Zegura joined what was then the Department of Anthropology in the fall of 1972 and taught physical anthropology and human genetics for more than 40 years. Described as a "consummate scholar and unwaveringly loyal colleague," he received the 2009-2010 Raymond H. Thompson Award for contributions he made to the school throughout his career.
A tribute on the School of Anthropology website states that Zegura "will long be remembered by his students for the inspiration, challenges, and support he gave them."
