On March 23, 2024, The University of Arizona's Wildcat Robotics will be holding the inaugural Sonoran Showdown.

We're happy to welcome the The Synshop and The Mighty Pong to announce and broadcast our event. Our arena is brand new, with fresh lexan for you to scratch up. Stop by and watch some robots break each other. Spectators as well as builders are welcome.

There will be double-elimination Beetleweight (3lb.) and (non-plastic) Antweight (1lb.) tournaments. If there are less than six registrations for either weight class, we will do a Round Robin tournament. There will be prize money for the winners, sponsored by SendCutSend.

Event details:

  •  One 6'x6'x3' enclosed lexan arena with MDF floor (no pit, as of now).
  • Standard safety measures and rules, see the link below.
  • Folding tables with power plugs will be provided.
  • Please bring your own tools.

We have a suggested registration/donation fee of $15, but nothing obligatory.

Location:

1255 N Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ.  It's in the North segment of this building.  Go through the path between the two buildings of the Pima Downtown Campus, and enter the Northern building from the south side.  Park in the east parking lot.
