The third annual University of Arizona Piano Day will take place on Wednesday, March 27 from 3-8:30 p.m. Join us for an engaging lecture and master class presented by guest artist Dr. Yu-Jane Yang (Distinguished Professor and director of keyboard studies at Weber State University), as well as a master class with current School of Music piano faculty. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about our program through a Q&A session with our undergraduate and graduate students and meet the faculty and current students over dinner. The highlight of the evening will be the final round of the 14th Annual Michael Moore Piano Competition, featuring performances by accomplished undergraduate pianists currently studying at the University of Arizona. Boxed dinner will be provided with a $20 registration fee.
Schedule:
- 3 p.m.: Lecture by Dr. Yu-Jane Yang: "Effective Practicing: Transformative Practice Strategies to Develop Confident Musicians"
- 4 p.m.: Master Class with Dr. Yu-Jane Yang
- 5 p.m.: Master Class with University of Arizona piano faculty
- 6 p.m.: Q&A + Dinner
- 7 p.m.: Final round of the 14th Annual Michael Moore Memorial Piano Competition
- 8:30pm Award Ceremony
