Organ Series: 'A Kaleidoscope of Song and Dance'

Organist Pamela Decker will present a program titled "A Kaleidoscope of Song and Dance." This program will present dance works and lyrical song-like pieces by American and British composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Composers include Calvin Hampton, Herbert Bielawa, Charles Villiers Stanford, Gerald Near, Ken Yukl and Pamela Decker. The chosen works display dance rhythms and song influences that trace back to origins in Spain, France, England, South America, Africa and the United States. The concluding work will be Pamela Decker's "Passacaglia and Dance Variations," which premiered on July 13, 2023, in the final concert of the American Guild of Organists' West Region Convention in Portland, Oregon, with choreography and dance by the Oregon Ballet Theatre.
