Renovated University of Arizona Campus Store to reopen to public

TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona Campus Store, previously known as the BookStore, will reopen on Monday after undergoing renovations.

The store, located in the Student Union Memorial Center, operated in a temporary space in the union over the summer while both levels of the permanent store received a complete overall.

The renovation project – developed in response to feedback from students about the store being outdated and underused – was designed to create a more inviting and relevant space, said Peter Neff, executive director of the Campus Store.

The store's dark mahogany has been replaced with a contemporary design that includes open spaces, comfortable lounges, and expanded event and tech service areas, Neff said.

The store will also feature an enhanced technology service center, resembling a mini Apple Store, that will offer iPhone repair services starting in mid-September, Neff said.

"We listened closely to our students and community members, and their input guided every aspect of this renovation project," Neff said. "Our goal is to provide a Campus Store that not only meets but exceeds expectations, offering a space where students feel inspired and excited to visit. This renovation aligns with our commitment to enhancing the overall student experience at the University of Arizona."

In celebration of Native American culture in Arizona, the renovated Campus Store will feature a Tribal Flag Wall, showcasing flags representing Arizona Native American tribes.

The store will expand its brand offerings to include Brianna Cannon, Kokuyo Campus, State 48, Athlete's Thread, and Ice Shaker, a line of protein shake bottles developed by U of A alumnus and former NFL player Rob Gronkowski and his brothers.

"As a university-owned and operated store, every purchase made at the Campus Store directly supports the University of Arizona and the Tucson community," Neff said. "By shopping with us, students and visitors contribute to scholarships, funding for student clubs, literacy programs, student employment opportunities and other vital university initiatives."
