Aaron Coleman, a printmaker and assistant professor of art at the University of Arizona, developed his passion for his work in an unlikely place: on the streets of Washington, D.C., and later Indianapolis, where he grew up spray-painting graffiti on trains, bridges and buildings.

In search of a more "responsible" way to be an artist, Coleman became a printmaker in college. By grad school, his work had taken off and found its way into exhibits and collections all over the world. He began teaching at the UA in fall 2016.

This gallery is part of a Lo Que Pasa series that explores the scholarship of fine art creation and performance through profiles of College of Fine Arts faculty. Click here to see the first story in the series.
