Walid Raad, an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist whose creations from videos, photographs and essays are featured in museums around the world, will present his "Artist Talk" as part of the School of Art's Visiting Artists and Scholars Endowment (VASE) lecture series.   He will present images, stories, and concepts from his three ongoing long-term projects: The Atlas Group (1989-2004); Scratching On Things I Could Disavow; and Sweet Talk: Beirut (Commissions). His works are unique in that they reflect the way history is told and how it can be manipulated. He has focused on the history of Lebanon, especially the period between 1975 and 1990 (the Lebanese civil war), inspired by the trauma it caused.
