Bettyjo H. Bouchey Appointed Senior Vice Provost for Online Education

On July 24, Provost and Chief Academic Officer Patricia Prelock sent a message to faculty, staff and designated campus colleagues in Online Education announcing the new Senior Vice Provost for Online Education.

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome Dr. Bettyjo H. Bouchey as senior vice provost for online education, effective Sept. 14.  

In this role, Dr. Bouchey will lead the university's enterprise online strategy and the integration of Arizona Online and the University of Arizona Global Campus. 

Dr. Bouchey is a nationally recognized leader in online learning, academic innovation and digital transformation. She joins the University of Arizona from the University of Vermont, where she served as chief officer of professional and continuing education. There, she led the growth of the university's online education offerings, expanding online and hybrid degree programs, workforce development initiatives and lifelong learning opportunities.

Previously, she served as the inaugural vice provost for digital strategy and operations at National Louis University, where she oversaw online education, competency-based education, credit for prior learning, instructional design and academic innovation.
