Arizona State Museum hold a 4,000-year-old cuneiform tablet from ancient Sumer. Given its age, the tablet is the oldest legal text in the state of Arizona.
Sara Chavarria, the UA College of Education's outreach director, has been working with University experts and schools in New Mexico to advance awareness around tree-ring science, fire ecology, archaeology and anthropology. In doing so, Chavarria is enhancing outreach initiatives and science education for youth in partnership with UA researchers who are helping to greatly expand what we know about the history of forest fires.
