Jeffrey Milem of the UA College of Education is one of 21 researchers nationwide who developed an amicus brief summarizing key research on affirmative action in anticipation of the case, Fisher v. University of Texas, scheduled to go before the U.S. Supreme Court. The case could shape the future of integration in America’s colleges.
The UA Institute for LGBT Studies has raised more than $100,000 to endow a lecture series named for Miranda Joseph, a UA faculty member who has been pivotal in the advancement of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender studies. The institute originally intended to raise the funds over a three-year period but was able to meet its goal in less than two years.
