The UA STEM Learning Center, which launches publicly in April, will expand teacher recruitment, education pathways, research and evaluation, among other things. The center is part of a nationwide initiative to train 100,000 new STEM teachers within a 10-year period.
The UA's Office of Early Academic Outreach recently held its College Knowledge for Parents program, which provides families with the information necessary to ensure that their children are college-ready. Hundreds of people participated in the event and some of the families shared their thoughts and experiences around how challenging it is to prepare to college and ways the UA is working to help.
Coinciding with more visible nationwide concerns about school safety and security, U.S. News & World Report ranks school psychology as one of the best careers of the year. The UA's school psychology program, one of the longest-running accredited programs in the field, maintains a strong emphasis on crisis prevention and efforts toward making connections among homes, schools and communities.
