Graphic designers in the UA School of Art were paired with award-winning University student poets to produce broadsides that combine the written word with visual art. Through a collaboration between the UA Poetry Center and Book Art Collective, the broadsides will be on display at the Poetry Center, and students will share their work during a series of events there.
The foundations were laid almost a century ago for what would evolve into the UA Museum of Art and the School of Art. The legacy of both continues to unfold with important contributions on and off campus to the artistic, creative, educational, historical, scholarly and cultural aspects of the visual arts. This is the final feature in a six-part series exploring the history the importance of the two UA units.
Museum docents, like those at the UA Museum of Art, carry the important role of aiding in people's awareness and understanding of cultural artifacts. At the UAMA, dozens of people volunteer as docents, furthering the mission to provide and enhance educational opportunities for people on and off campus, and beyond. This is the fourth feature in a series about the UAMA and the UA School of Art.
