The BlastOff! summer camp at the UA is helping to develop the next generation of scientists. Founded by students and faculty in the UA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the student-run camp provides middle school students with a foundational understanding of STEM-related research and careers.

It was during her childhood that two-time UA alumnus Carolyn Niethammer was introduced to prickly pear and its fruit. Niethammer has since authored books on cooking in the Southwest, including one that focuses exclusively on the prickly pear.

When Monty Begaye’s grandfather passed, he struggled both emotionally and academically. Determined to earn a college degree in honor of his grandfather, Begaye enrolled in the UA’s Pathways to Academic Student Success program, which got him back on track. Begaye graduates this Saturday.
The Arizona Choir and UA Symphonic Choir will preform Antonín Dvořák's "Stabat Mater" in Vienna and Prague this month. The singers will be performing on the very stages where Dvořák, Johannes Brahms and other legendary composers presented their work.
Arizona Repertory Singers has performed at over 65 venues in Southern Arizona and around the world. The UA has been invested the ensemble for three decades.
Project SEED and the American Indian Language Development Institute work directly with indigenous educators to find ways to preserve languages. In addition, the language institute is gearing up to offer its flagship summer program.
The UA School of Music's production of "The Magic Flute" is one of the largest in the school's recent history, with more than 100 people involved. David Ward, interim director of the UA Opera Theater, worked to professionalize the experience for students. While preparing for the opera, Ward involved other programs across campus and engaged students in professional, hands-on production processes.
