Special Asteroid Presentation
When: June 27, 2017 6:00pm
In anticipation of international Asteroid Day on June 30, Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium will host a Special Presentation about asteroids. Moderated by television host Geoff Notkin from the show "Meteorite Men," the presentation will bring together researchers from the University of Arizona who work at the forefront of asteroid science. Media are invited to attend, and opportunities for interviews with the experts will be provided.
Admission is free, however advance tickets are required and must be picked up from the Flandrau ticket office weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Expert presenters include:
- Dante Lauretta, principal investigator for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission and professor at the UA Lunar and Planetary Laboratory
- Eric Christensen, director of the Catalina Sky Survey for Near-Earth Objects and associate staff scientist at the UA Lunar and Planetary Laboratory
- Heather Enos, deputy principal investigator for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission
- Vishnu Reddy, assistant professor at the UA Lunar and Planetary Laboratory
- Geoff Notkin, Board of Governors, National Space Society
- Daniella Della-Giustina, image processing lead for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission
