Alfie Norville Gem and Mineral Museum Lecture: Susan Leib

When: September 14, 2022 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Susan Leib will present her doctoral dissertation, "Temporal Evolution of the Rattlesnake Creek terrane and Implication of Jurassic Construction of Crust in the Western United States." The study involves looking at high pressure and high temperature minerals (primarily garnet and rutile) to gather geochemical evidence and dates for major metamorphic events. This allows for an interpretation of the tectonic setting and continental crust at that time (in the Jurassic).

Free Admission to the museum is available to those attending the presentation!
