Building an Inclusive UX Research Practice

When: October 28, 2021 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Third part of our series on representation and inclusion in UX and tech. Sonu can talk about trying to recruit a diverse participant pool. Other topics could include: participatory design and co-design; reducing cognitive biases in the research process; including less-heard voices and designing for the marginalized.

We have three amazing speakers lined up! Topics include recruiting for and representing diversity in research, cognitive biases that impact research and suggestions for mitigating them, and building an inclusive research practice by designing "with," not "for."

Speakers:

  • Sonu Mishra, UX Researcher for the Office of Research Information Services at the University of Washington.
  • Michelle Ortiz, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
  • Ace Vu, founder of Human of Us, accessibility and inclusive design advocate, and former Principal Product Designer at Intuit.

All are welcome and you don't have to be affiliated with the University of Arizona to join us.
