Science Cafe at Magpies – 'Building Resilient Reefs: Biosphere 2 and Beyond'

When: December 17, 2019 6:00pm

Presenter: Katie Morgan, Manager of Marine Systems, Biosphere 2, University of Arizona

About the talk: Biosphere 2, the world's largest earth science research laboratory, explores how to use its 1 million gallon ocean tank to contribute to solutions for the world's coral reef crisis. Working alongside a dynamic group of partners, the Biosphere 2 ocean research team is engineering a resistant and resilient reef that will withstand future climate scenarios and stressors. Learn about the future of the world's reefs in this final Cafe of the Oceans series.

About Science Cafes: Science Cafes, presented by the University of Arizona College of Science, bring the community together with University of Arizona scientists and graduate students in a casual setting. You'll learn about the latest research being conducted, get to know the faces behind the science, and have opportunities to ask questions and deepen your understanding.
