The Office of Student Engagement and Career Development would like to invite you to attend its first Graduate Preparation Academy. This year’s event features two days of workshops and events that are designed to help you prepare for the graduate school application process, interview process, and determine whether graduate school should be the next step in your career.

During the event, students will learn about various topics related to graduate school to help them become a more competitive candidate and become aware of what they should expect.

At the event, we will focus on educating students on the following topics:

  • Benefits of graduate education (i.e., do I need to go to graduate school to pursue my career?)
  • Challenges to pursuing a graduate degree
  • Resources to help you search graduate programs and determine which schools you want to apply to
  • Navigating the graduate school application process
  • Learn how to articulate your experiences into a personal statement and during an interview
  • Learn how to articulate your experiences during an interview
  • Be aware of concepts of cultural competence that affect your application responses

Registration will close on Oct. 27.
